I want to finish a full campaign before I write any final thoughts. But I did finish the first mission & ran through the combat example/tutorial.

So far the game makes excellent use of event cards to create a scenario that is evolving & has some randomness to it. It does a great job at evoking the random & emergent nature of the videogames. For instance in the mission I played, there was an event card that spawned in mutants that then began fighting the bandits I was against, creating a good distraction for me get away and scavenge.

Solo with Mamon, like used in the combat example, is very strong.

Radiation is EXTREMELY deadly. Make sure to pack vodka & anti-rad meds.

Damage is brutal, both to enemies & players. Death comes fast if you're not careful and making good use of your resources. Try to avoid combat unless necessary to stay hidden.

The pda/dashboard is of high quality & very handy to keep track of inventory, damage, and weapon ammo.

The rulebook & insert are really good. Organizer holds all of the tokens in a way that's convenient during gameplay. Rulebook has a great index & iconography glossary on the back. It's dense & looks like a textbook, but is quite handy during play. One of the best ones I've seen from Awaken Realms.

All in all, I'm quite happy with the game so far. Of course, it is the honeymoon period so I'm interested to see how my thoughts evolve over the course of the campaign and how the Zone Survival skirmish mode holds up.

Anyone else want to share their thoughts?
