I realized I should have attacked Hydran about 10 seconds after I attacked Terran. That's beside the point. Your PMs successfully defended your space from me the entire game by forcing me on the defensive, spending all my materials just to continually weather your PM storm. I killed one of your retreating dreads with a lucky shot with no computer (since no computer will fit onto a build being forced to survive PMs.) If that hadn't happened you might have taken center. If Terran hadn't attacked you you might also have taken center. In almost no scenario could I have ever overcome your TWO MISSILE DREADS without having missiles of my own. But of course, Eridani doesn't have the actions to do much anyway. (Things like a big interceptor pin or something - good luck.)
I would say our game once again illustrates the overpowered nature of PMs. You gained a disproportionate amount of military power by having a PM-based fleet. Doesn't mean you were immune to a backstab / being ganged up on. Also illustrates how useless Phase Shield is vs. Gluon Computer. At best, me having Phase Shield served to potentially limit your upgrade choices so you couldn't skimp on computers. It was never actually a worthwhile choice for protecting my ships compared with all-IH.
As for that particular game, it was messed up for the following reasons:
- I didn't attack Hydran
- You didn't attack Hydran
- Terran attacked you repeatedly
Hydran will win and IMO deserves to win since he's the only one of us that didn't make major errors. Again, no relevance to the topic of PMs.
