Clarifying skirmish setup rules is on my to-do list. Basically, you only get one type of thing from each skirmish card. You choose your leader cards and discard them without taking the units on them (you just get the leader's unit). You take the non-leader units only from the cards that you draw for units. After you take the unit cards, you discard those and draw for terrain. You only get terrain on those cards.

I hope that this makes sense. The idea is that, if you take the most powerful leaders, you take that leader and discard the card so that you can't possibly get the powerful units listed on their skirmish cards.

Wow...I would NEVER have made that conclusion from the rules as written in the rulebook. Thanks for clarifying. So, can the Leader Skirmish cards that were not chosen for their LEADERS be included in those for the random unit draw? The reason that I ask is that many of the Leader Skirmish cards include excellent units.
