I whined about this in another thread here because like you I was working on getting all the expansions and new material for the 1st edition and just finished that last year at this time.
Glad to see DotR is still popular and the new edition is there for new players but also 'dismayed' like you about no compatibility for those of us who invested in the 1st edition.
