Reply: Batman: Gotham City Chronicles:: General:: Re: Batman: Gotham City Chronicles Solo Variant v1.5

by raminad

Played another game of Caught in a Spyral. this time with Batman as the Hero.

Won the game but Batman did have to Push the Limits on the very last turn in order to destroy a terminal. He was also heavily wounded so it could have gone either way. A few more successful villain attacks and he would not have had the energy to complete the mission.

One thing to bear in mind: If a hero objective involves an automatic manipulation of thought in a room, the villain is better off defending that objective from the adjacent space.

Using this game as an example, the hero needs to use an automatic manipulation in order to destroy at least two terminals. Automatic manipulations are subject to hindering.

Manbat was ordered to defend an objective. Had I moved him into a room with a terminal, Batman could just enter the room and make an automatic manipulation to destroy the terminal. With Manbat outside the doorway, Batman had to either neutralize him or pay an extra cube to leave the space due to hindering.

Not something that needs to be changed in the AI, just something to keep in mind while playing. Slavish adherence to the flow charts *may* under certain circumstances, violate the spirit of the instruction.

In any event, liking the changes in 1.5.

Very well done.
