You might like Space Cadets: Away Missions, which is a bit more puzzly and has a retro sci-fi theme (rocket patrol vs little green men).If you want something more in-depth and longer playing, Galaxy Defenders and Sword & Sorcery by Ares Games are worth checking out. I think they are too similar to own both, so choose based on whether you prefer an XCOM or D&D theme.
If you can track down a copy, the OOP Gears of War: The Board Game is very good. Though it’s based off a video game IP, which often means cheap tie-in, it’s a cult classic with lots of fans years after it came out. It’s also the most similar to Fireteam Zero in terms of gameplay.
