I am loving JiME. I like MoM a lot.

Mechanically, there are some simple improvements (only 3 action types), the obvious threat, the obvious monsters, etc.

MoM generally feels like a game where things are spiralling out of control and you're doing your best. Poor planning and bad luck can really cause a hard game to become impossible (I spent an entire game in the entrance of the first mansio because the app endlessly spawned 1 cultist there, so I was forced to fight and kill a new cultist every round and it always took me 2 actions).

JiME is a game where you have a lot more control over the action. You are generally stronger than the enemies but there can be a lot of them. Heroes need to utilize their cards to set up combos and those combos can be devastating and awesome, turning bad situations into wins.

The game requires you to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your character, far more so than MoM. You need to know what their cards do, what the cards of your chosen role, and make that work. It's a very rewarding situation when you can get it to work. It does rely on luck of the draw, so some adventures, you may be less efficient.
I love the campaign idea and I love that the campaign allows for a fail forward progression.

Overall, I really like the game.
