As others have also stated, the games are in fact different in style. The one a dungeon crawler, the other more of a journey each legend on its own.

I played M&M, and enjoyed it. But I was lacking that feeling of connecting with one specific character. Seeing every chapter dictates how many you can use, it can happen that you don't have all the characters you like or need.
It made it thus more "complex" for me to connect with the game at times, as you constantly have to choose between chapters, whereas I would have liked the whole team to just participate every time.

And yes, there are many rules in M&M, but not always easy to find (like what do "hungry roaches" again). Complexity increased again.

Don't get me wrong, I like the game, I have all the expansions, but I recently got to know Andor, and I like it so much more. I immediately got into the story, I have my character, I can play with the wife, each with our own character, we can choose legends as we want, once the game is played through, and we have a perfect grasp of the rules, as they are much more easy in my opinion, and the rulebook is much more straightforward and organized.

In terms of gameplay, Andor is more complex, but to be honest. But it is not a dungeon crawler, more of a puzzle or enigma to solve while playing through. But anyways in M&M I got bored of always having to rid a tile of all creatures before moving to the next. I would have like creatures to just follow.

So in my opinion, if you want a straightforward game, with complexity in terms of gameplay, but not rules, and the game not necessarily being a dungeon crawler at heart, you have Andor.
In terms of complex rules, but not necessarily complex gameplay, you have M&M.
