When you say "move out of sight" it sounds like you are under the impression that monsters need line of sight to focus. They don't. Is that what you're missing?

Short and simple, we would not have issues working with Kolossal again on future KS campaigns if we choose that path.

Oh, sorry, completely missed that!

The sleeves won't be specific to the Pantheon. I believe that the backs are just for "Mythic Battles", which is why people speculate that after Ragnarok, is Egyptian mythology due to the symbols on the back of the sleeves.

BTW: Even if you don't mix Pantheon and Ragnarok units, the card backs for the art of war/omphalos cards will be different. By using sleeves to hide the card backs, you'll be able to reuse AoW and Omphalos cards, cutting down on the need to by extension kits if you do larger play sessions with Ragnarok.

Cheers!

They mentioned at GAMA in March that there's something coming for Descent, but wouldn't announce it there. GenCon is only a few weeks away, so that's the most likely time for an announcement.

Thanks, you took the words out of my mouth.

It always makes me uncomfortable that some people seem to think there's some sort of invisible line drawn between "heavy" and "light" games.
It reminds me of the old convention hate between cardfloppers, dicechuckers, minipushers and bloodsuckers. Which I could at least understand a bit since they were competing for resources.

Nonetheless I always felt out of place as a person who played all of them. Which is the same vibe I get now. There's nothing wrong about streamlined games, just as heavy games also have their place. The market's big enough to support either, and everything in between.

There's no need to worry that games that we personally like will run dry, and pretending one game type is superior/inferior and/or "ruining the market" seems a huge waste of time.

Well thank you for that. It’s also important to consider how offering something to early adopters would be executed. Asking fans to prove their possession of the first edition would not be taken well, which means this would be extended in some non-quantifiable manner wherein someone new to Eclipse could (and would) ask for the same. To this end, it would not be a benefit to 1st edition owners, but rather anyone claiming to be. Further, and this is just my personal platform, some of the fans wanting a consolation approach the topic as though it implicit. But it is not. No second edition was planned when the first was made. It’s been many years since the games initial release. And try as we (the creators and Kolossal) might, there’s so many permutations of what some consider the “only way” to approach this edition and its campaign that there will never be one that is universally approved.

The best way to honor the fans is to be honest, to incorporate their feedback from years of play to make a better game, to not create a hybrid product that will perpetually be in need of revision, and to offer an incentive for backing. I feel all of those things are factored into this new core edition and the campaign. More goals are being unlocked, most of which will comprise Worlds Afar, which will cost late adopters after the campaign. We have even tried to add value in the ship wash and the play mat, where possible. The cost is lower (barring shipping costs, of course). Second Dawn has more content, more components, and has been thoughtfully designed. It’s a beast of a box that offers more than the original at the same cost (for backers).

Again, we are sorry for any disappointment. The love is palpable from the fans, good, bad, or otherwise. We can only hope that our answers are considered from a place of experience, as creators, publishers, and people that have brought joy to many over the years in the form of games. And I truly am happy to communicate wit the public. Yes, this has been an intense campaign thus far, but it was always going to be. Please know we are listening and trying where possible while keeping the creator vision and utilizing what we believe to be best for the campaign based on literal years of experience.

Thanks so much,

Travis R. Chance

When I here such sentences like "..considered from a place of experience, as creators , publishers,..." I really get angry about you and the creator and all that little bits that could have been done better concernign usability. I get the vision and I do not want big changes, but just little tweaks that make the game better without cost. I still can not get over having to put the cubes from the player tray on the population cube tracks again. Sorry, that is not experience but incompetence. There is definitely experience in gamedesign and game publishing existent, but not in usablity and industrial design. The first presented race sheet was something I would have been ashamed of if I had created it. Sorry to be that harsh. Btw I invested about 20 hours for free in the feedback and design of the alternatives for the race sheets.

We appreciate your time. And I am sorry for your disappointment. These are conscious decisions, and I cite experience and vision not to offend, but rather as a point of perspective. The creators have invested money, time, and passion into this game beyond what anyone else can and/or will. I defer to that experience, that passion, esp. since it was their vision that created such love for this game all those years ago. What you deem incompetent others do not. And while I appreciate the passion, the delivery, in my opinion, doesn’t have to be as such. Lautapelit and Kolossal have shown that we listen. The species sheets were revisited. There is a pill for the cover. Interaction is the goal. Our hope is to use that passion and feedback for the best end result. However, that end result will likely not tick every single box for every single fan. Navigating Rhea feedback and the passion, that is my job. I cannot stress enough, we care. And I only ask people look at what we have done as much as what they wished would be done.

Which Imperial Class deck did you choose?

I think the one I chose was called something like, "Military Might". It's supposed to be one of the easier choices for the Rebels. However, I'm still crushing the Rebellion to the point where the players are becoming demoralized. In short, I have the opposite problem.

I don't get this either. There have been many requests since before the KS launched to be able to store the cubes in their population squares. This would really save set up time and save space in the ship tray. It just requires a lid. I haven't seen a single response to this idea.

You could make him Draga Salt-Biter who was a wereshark and dark lord of Saragoss from 2nd edition ravenloft: islands of terror. Then you might end up going over board buying tiles and looking up creatures of that domain and making your own string of adventures using the castle ravenloft system rules. :)

So I wouldn't mind facilitating setup, card decks, rules questions, flavor texts, shopping etc.

If a character dies or retires, that player can become the new administrator and I can play!

What do u think guys?

I only GM'ed few games of Imperial Assault and also just started on Gloomhaven as a player + GM. Due to the automated nature of monsters a GM's role will not extend towards rule reinforcement and making things so smoother. If you are very interested in being an admin it is still a possible role to dedicate in. Do know that the GM won't be able to input his own decisions to influence a game like a GM from IA could. You won't be able to tell the monsters how to move and attack. You won't be able to trigger events like agenda missions to screw players over. There is no recruiting minions as everything is pre-determined by scenario, and the story does not diverge when the monster side wins, the party simply does not unlock new scenarios until they win.

I hope this helps.

Agreed. The GW mini makes her look like a 19th Century version of Lara Croft.
Mina is supposed so be somewhat sickly and frail. Her powerful hunter ability is that she's psychically connected to Dracula, as a result of being bitten by him (thus the scarf).
Well...at least they didn't dress her in Space Marine armour.

They just gave her Space Marine fists!

This isn't really a play-by-play, but rather a synopsis of the events of the last two scenarios played (tested) in the solo campaign.

The scenario sees Alpha and Delta in the desert attempting to find out what the Reich is up to in the land of pyramids. The first attempt saw the two make it to a tomb objective before being gunned down by Ozo and clawed to death by Yula (who literally walked through fire to make the kill). It looked like an easy scenario to win and the Union reached the objective quickly, but getting out was another story.

The second attempt was even worse. The Schocktruppen flipped the card to allow him to instantly move as far as it takes to get on path with an enemy and fire on him. He hit 4 times and Delta couldn't shake off more than 1. That was the beginning of the end.

0-2 on that attempt. While I need to clean up for Brimstone tonight (that's a 45 minute setup), I did learn a few things: a card (that works as is) could use some verbiage clarification and a small FAQ might get made for certain instances like walking through fire. Usually, I just use the WWID (what would I do?) rule.

I did several runs of scenario 1 solo to prepare for the campaign start with the monster cards. After I use the app when we play an actual game I don't know why I didn't use the app sooner. This is one of the best app I have ever seen. Thank you for developing.

I mean that's perfectly fine but this is a forum so give opinions please :D I'm far from an Eclipse-expert so I'm probably missing some ramifications or indirect consequences of the new hexes or something.

The WA and minor species is the only real stuff I want in the GC pledge. Just can't justify paying $50USD more for some nice to have stuff when I could get a while new great game for that. But if you want the other stuff it's a good deal.

"If you want the other stuff it's a good deal" should be the motto of this Kickstarter... :P

I've been thinking about painting the Mansions minis, but I need to get through my Imperial Assault backlog first!
